News - THE SMITH STREET BAND – USA TOUR!

Melbourne, Australia’s THE SMITH STREET BAND are taking their tireless touring ethic to the USA for the very first time. There’ll be much fist-pumping, singing, drinking and laughing. Best of all, it kicks off tomorrow!

Fronted by the ineffaceable Wil Wagner, The Smith Street Band take cues from a whole wide world of influences (punk rock and beyond) and still manage to sound like nothing you’ve ever wrapped your ears around.  All melody and fury and celebration, Wagner deftly articulates what each of us have felt but never been eloquent enough to express. These punk rock upstarts are incapable of standing still, and perhaps, of growing up. They also exhibit a burning desire play for as many people as possible (not entirely impossible given the immediate accessibility of their memorable folk/punk/rock sound).

Having just capped off a largely SOLD OUT national tour of Australia to celebrate the release of second album SUNSHINE & TECHNOLOGY on Poison City Records, this band is in inspiring live shape. 2012 has also seen The Smith Street Band tour with guys like Frank Turner, Bomb The Music Industry, Fucked Up and La Dispute. After a maiden voyage to China (seven shows in seven days!), the band now hit the US for an extensive tour alongside a bunch of new friends and a slot at this year’s THE FEST in Gainesville, FL.
